Wolf Creek is 100% open

Posted by frontrangeriffraff on December 2, 2008

Ya gotta love Wolf Creek. They are 100% open. While most other Colorado ski areas keep you off any trail that isn’t mostly covered, Wolf Creek lets you decide where you want to ride. Their only disclaimer? “Early season conditions persist with some obstacles.” I can deal with that.

If you’re tired of avoiding kooks at the Big Ski Co. resorts with their limited early-season terrain, then grab your rock sticks or board and head down to Wolfy and get some. Check out a calendar of their Local Appreciation Days with $31 lift tickets (no ID required, woot!) here.

Zach Hooper and friends documented a Wolf Creek trip last month, with a cat ride and snowboarding with Wolf Creek owner/president/manager/snowboarder/all-around-cool-guy Davey Pitcher:
